The Chemung County Chamber of Commerce Business Education Roundtable is proud to continue to grow “Made in the Southern Tier” MFG Day after a successful launch in 2016.
MFG Day is held annually on the first Friday of October. The day highlights the importance of manufacturing to the economy, provides manufacturers with the opportunity to showcase the potential of modern manufacturing, and fosters interest in its many rewarding careers. MFG Day’s mission is to inspire the next generation of manufacturers.
Typically, more than 2,500 MFG Day events are held across the U.S. The initiative is well-established and far-reaching, and its mission is particularly vital for Chemung County, a community that’s fortunate to have an exceptionally strong manufacturing base.

MFG Day is going to look a bit different this year. Rather than 1 day to showcase our local manufacturers to our students, we will have several sessions over the last 3 weeks of October. Participating manufacturers will offer virtual session for roughly 30 minutes. During these sessions, we will learn about the manufacturer, watch a demonstration, then have a live Q&A with the students. The goal of this event is to educate students on how manufacturing has touched all of our lives and the manufacturing companies in their own backyard.
Evolution Edges – 9:30 a.m.
Cameron Manufacturing & Design with Hardinge – 9:30 a.m.

*This event is open to middle school students, high school students, BOCES, college students, and school staff. Each session will be recorded and available for the business community after completion.
