Job Description

Arnot Realty is seeking a highly capable, self-starter to be a Development Manager responsible for transforming our real estate investment ideas into reality. Partner in leading real estate development projects from inception to completion, including assisting with identification of investment opportunities, analysis and market research, entitlements, overseeing design & construction of projects, and managing the property startup. Key Responsibilities

The Development Manager is responsible for full-cycle project development. This consists of identifying a project site, analyzing the site’s development potential, assembling the design team and managing the design process, leading the project through municipal approvals, overseeing construction, and transitioning the property to an operational asset.

Oversee the planning and construction of development projects, special projects, and large capital improvement projects.

Lead design consultants and contractors to develop and deliver projects that align with the company’s investment and property management goals.

Develop detailed and accurate project budgets and schedules; deliver projects within those goals.

Work with development and operations team members to identify investment opportunities that align with the company’s long-term goals.

Assist in efforts to develop standardized specifications for future development projects, stay up to date on new trends in the design and construction industries, and guide our efforts to be effective and efficient throughout the development process.

Assist with developing property operating budgets, development proforma’s and reporting on project successes & failures.

Education, Experience & Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in real estate, architecture, engineering, construction management, or business, a Master’s/MBA is preferred.

Minimum 5 years of project management experience in design and/or construction is preferred, including a comprehensive understanding of project flow, construction detailing, and real estate operations with exposure to or demonstrated understanding of multifamily, retail and commercial asset types.

Knowledge of zoning and building codes as well as an understanding of the entitlements, permitting, and other municipal interactions.

Due to Federal regulations this position requires an employee to have a COVID-19 Vaccination or have a qualified exemption.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, respond to requests on a timely basis, and be flexible with changing business needs.

Strong experience with design and construction software such as AutoCad, Revit, SketchUp, and MS Project. Experience with Microsoft Office including Word & Excel, Sage, as well as other computer applications is a plus.

Team player with interpersonal skills to connect with colleagues, customers, and service providers.

Ability to speak publicly is beneficial.

Compensation is based on experience.
